The SyMedica Network
SyMedica, was established in 1985 with the mission to provide educational, consulting, recovery and support solutions for healthcare professionals, their patients and their families. Since 1985 SyMedica has had services spanning sixteen states.

Symedica collaborated with state healthcare recovery programs to provide enriching and supportive learning opportunities for affected professionals through online and local group encounters, and online educational programs. This service has been standardized and formalized into our SyMedica system.
Our collaboration continued with Pulido-Coates Associates. Here SyMedica expanded services to support pain management practices and programs in their compliance efforts, as well as protocols designed to enhance patient outcomes.
As partnerships and collaborative efforts grew, SyMedica’s President, Bob Coates, realized his vision in the development of a network of resources to support conscientious and accountable professionals in healthcare and beyond. Based on his belief that individuals and institutions who strive for accountability and the advancement of “best practices” need a collective resource for learning, support and growth, AAPHP was formed. As a visionary in healthcare and business, Bob has worked tirelessly to “watch the back” of the professionals and practitioners served by his organizations and the network. His inspirational mission to equip professionals and practitioners with the “best formulas, feelings, and intellectual pursuits of excellence” is the driving foundation of AAPHP.

Bob Coates, M.Div., LMFT (TN), LPC (TN & VA), LMHC (FL)
Bob Coates has developed a successful career as a national presence in high watermark delivery of demonstrated compliant and cost effective ROI Integrated healthcare. Bob has worked either professionally in clinical practice, or as an executive healthcare practitioner, in proprietary primary care, rural health clinics, behavioral health, neurology, physical therapy, interventional pain management, clinical laboratory services in both hematology and toxicology, concierge medicine, radiology, community mental health centers. He has represented his compliance clients since 1993 before investigative agencies as to compliance with U.S. Healthcare Laws. He is a federally registered lobbyist offering healthcare and faith-based government relations services.
In clinical practice since 1978, Bob is licensed in Tennessee as a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor, in Virginia as a Licensed Professional Counselor, and Florida as Licensed Mental Health Counselor. His clinical focus since 2007 has been in the development of recovery programs and telemedicine for impaired healthcare and legal professionals. His corporate focus in healthcare has been in the development of compliant pain management programs nationally under Pulido Coates and Associates., and patient-centered integrative healthcare.
Bob serves as a SAMHSA grant reviewer and since 1997 as a provider of healthcare professional’s Continuing Education recognized by the Florida Division of Medical Quality Assurance.
A graduate of Baylor University in Waco, Texas, a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, clinical training at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, Bob also has been certified in Mind-Body Psychology at the Benson-Henry Institute of Mind-Body Psychology at Harvard Medical School.
Bob continues to practice as a clinical psychotherapist in Alexandria, Virginia, Tampa, Florida, and Franklin, Tennessee.

Laura Y. Pulido, MSN, ARNP-BC
Laura has spent the past decade of her career exclusively in assisting those suffering from pain to get better outcomes in several different clinics and practices. Her passion to help those suffering from pain drove her to team up with co-author/developer Bob Coates to develop the pain patient compliance protocol and scale (PPCP).
The PPCP is a specialized protocol for treating pain patients which helps provide a more effective method of pain reduction while reducing the chances of complications through addictive behaviors. She also has 30 years of leadership, management and clinical experience in healthcare. During her care Laura has operated in a wide-array of roles and specialties in various facets of healthcare. These included time in women’s health, pediatrics, cardiac care, and surgery.
Laura also spent time in sales roles for disease management, pharmaceuticals, and medical quality assurance. Laura has extensive knowhow in training and education having served both as a corporate trainer and adjunct faculty member at the University of Tampa.
In her spare time Laura also servers the community. She serves the Make-a-Wish Foundation and is active in international mission work in the Dominican Republic.
